When someone criticizes religion particularly Judeo-Christian or Western sects like Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam or Judaism, inevitably the mention of war and complicity arises. The other day I viewed a Youtube snippet that had Richard Dawkins, the Atheists' favorite son being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly, the idiots' favorite son. Dawkins' manner is almost always polite and reserved at least in interviews. O'Reilly attempts to stump his guest with the usual arrogance of his interruption-braggadocio-I-am-smarter-and louder-than-you style and points out that Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler and Stalin among others were atheists. Surely that means that atheism is the more evil.
Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler and I all began life as Roman Catholics. I have never killed anyone and I am mainly pacifistic. Stalin is the only one of us besides myself who called himself an atheist. Pol Pot's regime had laws against religion but we are not sure of his personal beliefs. Hitler was anti-christian but not altogether atheistic. Mr. O'Reilly on the other hand is a liar, womanizer and a bigot which makes him a lousy example for Christians; or does it? I suppose that Richard Dawkins needs the publicity but I am always dumbfounded when intelligent people go on that preposterous excuse for a news? show. Do you think that the Richard Dawkins show would have Billy on?
Now there's a big list on the Catholic complicity issue that includes witch hunting, inquisitions, foreign conquest, slavery, subjugation, torture, language laws and all those lovely things in places lie South America, North America, Vietnam, China, Korea that I will not cover here but I think you get the point. Evil is as evil does.
